Motherhood Burnout

This is the face of a momma who is tired. Like deep in my soul tired. Between the pandemic and motherhood and all the other things life is throwing my way, sometimes I have nights like this: covered in mascara, messy house, messy brain...

One thing I've learned over the last 5 years of being a mom is that it is not for the faint of heart. How to we take care of ourselves when we also have tiny humans to raise?

I'll tell you how: support.

Are you doing EVERYTHING yourself? or do you have the right support system in place?

I'll tell you what, I cry, a lot. I have hard days, often. But what I am the most grateful for is my support system. It allows me to have days like this, get the energy I need to recharge, and get back to business.

Just because you CAN do it alone, doesn't mean you SHOULD. The one thing I can tell you is that being a mom is hard, but it doesn't need to be made harder because you AREN'T taking care of yourself.

I want so desperately to be that support for YOU, mama. The person you can be yourself with, ask for help, and just be there for you during your health journey.

Focusing on your health is the #1 most tangible way to take better care of yourself over all.

I may not be able to magically remove the stress from every area of your life, but what I can do is provide you a fitness plan that works for your body and your schedule, and give you the accountability and support you need to ACTUALLY utilize it, and feel the change even years down the road.

I know how hard juggling self-care and motherhood can be, because I deal with it daily in my own life. I want to help you push past that survival mode and help you rediscover that woman deep inside that deserves to thrive, through movement and nutrition.

You're not lazy, you are an incredible human that needs and deserves the right kind of support in your life

So, from one mom to another, here's some helpful tips to make your days feel a little lighter:

  • Get some fresh air. A few deep breaths outside can do wonders for a quick mental health boost

  • Ask for help. This is the hardest step for some, but even if its just for 5 min so you can take an uninterrupted shower, ask.

  • Find a safe space to say what's on your mind. Whether its me, a trusted friend, a therapist, you need a place to "word vomit" without judgement

  • Turn down the noise (literally). Put in some earplugs when you're feeling sensory overload

  • Take walks. Even if that means grumpy kids in strollers, put in those headphones and go outside!

  • Plan something at least once a month to get you out of the house. Ideally without kiddos, and ideally not something you have to do (like running errands). Even if its a Saturday morning at Starbucks to read a book for an hour. Having something to look forward to can make the days feel less daunting.

  • Find a hobby. You don't have to be good at it AT ALL. As long as it makes you happy!

  • MOVE YOUR BODY. Nourish your body. Hydrate your body. Treating the outside well can help you feel better on the inside! (I can help you with that too!)
